I like most all horror except b movie horrors, and my bf don't and my parents don't, and I thought it'd be nice if we could start a tradition of meeting up and watching them together, with local people who enjoy movies. There's an sf bay area group, so how about a Sacramento group?

Sun, November 25, 2007 - 9:39 AMwas there a point to the website I missed, Yeah sure it's about horror but what did it have to do with locals getting together? -

Re: Any one here a horror movie fan and would like to do horror movie night get togethers?
Sun, November 25, 2007 - 10:44 AMBecause it's about a local horror film festival where locals get together to watch horror movies in a movie theater, and many of the folks involved also make their own locally-produced horror movies? -

Sun, November 25, 2007 - 9:45 PMStill like the idea of a group in a house better than a theater. I don't like theaters, the seats are uncomfortable, It's always hard to get a correct seat, to far back can't see to far forward you have to crane neck backwards, plus you always inevitably get people who don't realize that loudly shouting SHHHHHHHHHHHH at people is just as distracting and rude as the person who may have been whispering to someone else. -

Mon, November 26, 2007 - 8:38 AMWell no worries then, you wouldn't hear anyone loudly shouting "SHHHHHHH" over all the people loudly shouting obscenities at the screen at the top of their lungs.
The TFO is...lively. It's definitely an atmosphere for people who like theaters, and getting together with several hundred other deranged freaks for weird times, wacky hi-jinks, prizes, and of course blood and nudity on the beautiful Crest Theater's sparkling silver screen. If what you had in mind is more of a sedate get-together with friends watching videos at someone's house, then maybe the TFO is a bit much.
